Here we are well into 2023, slowing down for nothing starting the year off straight away with a new Project server! For the first time in Existence history, we are now hosting more servers than ever on our biggest rented server, made possible with the support of our Patrons.

This time last year we were still right into Project Amplified, now Community Server 2 is well established and we have finally seen the launch of Project Create after more than a year of development and planning.

2023 is due to bring an amazing time for all, many more events and projects on Community Server 2 to come, and Project Create is only just getting started.

Looking back on 2022

Last year was incredible for the Existence Community, potentially one of the greatest years for community wellbeing. We started off the year deep into preparation for the launch of the second Community Server while falling from high places on Project Amplified.

In March we celebrated our 6th anniversary and opened Community Server 2 with a highly cooperative and joint effort to develop the server and all its features. It was also a time to reembrace what we all love about Existence and saw the return of many legacy and long-time members of the community. The server thrived with high activity for many many months, now settling at a quieter but comfortable level as people focus on real life and other projects.

Throughout the year we held a number of great Community Events on the server, from a very quick raid of a Woodland mansion, many Ender dragon fights, chaos in the Deep Dark and Ancient cities with Minecraft 1.19, and recently the Halloween theme park and Christmas events. 2022 also saw the Creative server become non-exclusive and open for all players, further prompting a joint community. Assisting to create a closer community, the staffing team underwent a few revisions and has now settled in a position that brings staff closer to regular players with regards to in-game name formatting/colours and closing engaging with the community for event/server development and changes.

2022 was truly amazing for the Existence Community.

Project Create

Originally announced back in May of 2021, we started off 2023 with a launch of Project Create! Lead and Developed by iGalaxy, Project Create was a long time coming just waiting for the right time to launch. On new years day the server opened with a crew of dedicated players keen to enter the modded world and explore all its possibilities. The server has a direct focus on the Create Mod but also features a wide range of other mods bringing a whole new type of Minecraft gameplay to Existence not seen since the short lived Project Mutatio back in 2017

iGalaxy has done an insanely amazing job with developing the server to such a high standard, ensuring great functionality across all installed mods while still keeping a direct focus on the Create mod. Not only that, but also making access to the server easy with client presets and install guides, helping all players to debug issues and enjoy the new modded server

Project Create is only a few weeks old now and still going strong, the project was always intended to be short lived but for as long as there is interest and funding we hope to keep the server running well into 2023

A Close Community

From me, mcpeachpies. 2022 was better than I could have ever imagined, I am so incredibly thankful to all those who contributed in making Community Server 2 so far one of the best servers we’ve ever hosted. I’ve been so fortunate to have many of my friends and legacy members rejoin the community after a the split in 2021, Existence at its core is all about the people that have made it what it is today.

A massive thank you to ItsPurpleJay and iGalaxy for their work staffing the community from event planning and execution to server development and contribution, 2022 saw some huge personal changes in my life and wellbeing, the assistance from Jay and Galaxy along with all the community input and support has allowed Existence to thrive beyond what I thought was possible.

I also want to shout out to Yoglington for being a great support with keeping my activity up on the server and with content creation, honorable mention to Howler for also going strong with on-server content creation.

2023 has the potential to be one of the busiest years of my life, from moving to a new city and starting a very time consuming but amazing new job. But now that things overall have some stability I look forward to creating a solid work-life balance between my new life and the Existence Community.

Off we go

The year has only just begun yet Existence is off to a strong start, people have expressed great joy in the success of Community Server 2 and we hope to continue developing the server from hosting many more events to a wide range of community projects such as working on town/the crater and the nether hub.

We hope to do another podcast episode covering this document, marking the first episode of the year and also first recording captured outside of the Community Server 🚂

We had many plans for multiple Project servers last year, but due to Community Server 2 being so engaged, we didn’t follow up until the end of the year. Going into this year there is high potential for development for another Project, there has been interest in another Hardcore and a beta/old version server.

The Existence Community is very fortunate to have the support of many generous Patrons, allowing us to widely expand what the community has to offer its members and allow for stable hosting a “home” Minecraft server for many.
